We can’t deny: the power of people is under attack. Corporate greed and special interests are working hard to divide us and erode our democracy. People and communities must come first — and to get us there, we must address the root issues in our systems holding us back from making real progress on climate change, health care, education, criminal justice, and racial equity. It is too urgent for tinkering around the margins: to build a Minnesota where everyone thrives with no exceptions, we need bold leadership and bold action.
My experience is rooted in the values I learned growing up in our district. I’ve spent the last twenty years working to protect and build democracy as an organizer, a voting rights lawyer, and now as your state representative. I’ve dedicated my life to taking on our most challenging issues, doing the hard work, and fighting collectively to achieve real wins, because I believe in the power of us. That’s how I lead. That’s how I govern. And that’s how we’ll make change.
